Five Afghani migrants in the Swedish city of Uppsala brutally raped an underage boy for over an hour in the woods and reports claim they filmed the attack on their mobile phones.

The boy, who is said to be under the age of 15, was assaulted in the woods in the Swedish city by the five Afghans aged 16 and 17 at knifepoint for well over an hour. The ordeal took place in the early morning hours of October the 25th and the five migrants have all been charged with sexual offences on a minor, Aftonbladet reports.

A Green MP tasked with planning sustainable neighbourhoods in Sweden has said the government can build new cities to deal with an unprecedented demand for housing.

Amid worsening housing shortages after a record 163,000 migrants entered the country last year, the government has appointed Johan Edstav as a special coordinator to investigate novel ways of providing accommodation for the country’s fast-growing population. Speaking to Swedish Radio last week, the Green party politician said taxpayers could build brand new cities or resorts, which would each house around 50,000 people.

“The sky is the limit, you could say in this area. The need is of course very large. There is no limitation in my mission to see how big these resorts can be,” Edstav said.

In the aftermath of the ECB halting production of the €500 banknote, and more recently, India phasing out its highest denomination bills instantly eliminating some 86% of the cash in circulation as increasingly more countries make a move toward a cash-free society, another central bank – the world’s oldest – has started planning its own transition away from paper cash.

Sweden’s Riksbank, which was the first central bank in the world to issue paper currency in the 1660s, is preparing to become a monetary pioneer yet again, and has launched a project to examine what a central bank-backed digital currency would look like and what challenges it would pose.

As Reuters writes, the RIksbank could become the first major central bank in the world to create its own virtual money as the use of cash declines, Deputy Governor Cecilia Skingsley said on Wednesday.

A promised crackdown in Sweden on illegal migrants has stalled, as police have agreed to stop asking landlords and communities to help track illegals in hiding following complaints that border control emails made people feel “uneasy”.

A police spokesman admitted the U-turn, after several municipal housing facilities in Blekinge received emails asking for help in detecting migrants who are staying in Sweden illegally, reports Göteborgs-Posten.

Ewa-Gun Westford told reporters: “We take very seriously [the fact] that people felt very uneasy due to the email. Therefore, we will not do it here.”

“The people we seek are often hiding with relatives/acquaintances”, police wrote in the offending email. Landlords were also asked to share information on properties at which they suspect there may be extra people residing.

The woman was shocked, and screamed for help during the gang rape, which lasted fifteen to twenty minutes. Finally a Swedish man arrived at the scene and asked the Eritreans what they were doing, which led to the Africans scattering in different directions.
