Why has the NYT changed the the title of the following article from this …
… to this …
“A Friendship Dating to 1976 Resonates in 2012”
Donald Trump is now opposed to the two-state solution, i.e. he is supporting the Greater Israel plans.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump meeting at the Trump Tower in New York, September 25, 2016.
Source: Netanyahu hails Donald Trump as a ‘true friend’ of Israel
What just one week ago seemed ludicrous – Trump picking his former arch nemesis Mitt Romney as Secretary of State – now appears imminent. According to a WSJ report, the President-elect is leaning toward asking former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney to be his secretary of state.
In a less surprising pick, Trump is allegely also likely to name retired Marine Gen. James Mattis to serve as secretary of defense in his administration, and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is the leading candidate to be the next ambassador to the United Nations, the people said.
Update: According to NBC, Romney is reportedly being considered for Secretary of State.
Mitt Romney will meet with President-elect Donald Trump this weekend to discuss the position of Secretary of State, a source tells NBC News. It’s unclear if Romney, who was one of Trump’s more vocal critics within the GOP, will meet with Trump at Trump Tower or at another location on Sunday.
Trump has stayed mostly within the confines of his 5th Avenue skyscraper since his visit to Washington last Thursday to meet with President Obama and congressional leaders; however, he’s still meeting with potential cabinet members and plans to meet with Japanes Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Thursday.
Earlier this year during the presidential campaign, the former Massachusetts governor criticized Trump’s candidacy, calling him a “phony” and “fraud.”

Mitt Romney. Was he a job creator or a corporate raider?
That’s the question this film answers.
And it’s not pretty.
In a stunningly honest and frank rant, FOX News’ Judge Jeanine unleashes anchor hell upon Mitt Romney and the GOP establishment hordes.
“There’s an insurrection coming. Mitt Romney just confirmed it. We’ve watched governors, the National Review, conservative leaders, establishment and party operatives trash Donald Trump. But Mitt Romney will always be remembered as the one who put us over the edge and awoke a sleeping giant, the Silent Majority, the American people.
Romney thinks human activity contributes to global warming. He thinks it is urgent that global action be taken to solve this non-problem. He cites climate change as one of those issues that political leaders in Washington are failing to address.
“I’m one of those Republicans who thinks we are getting warmer and that we contribute to that,” said Romney at an investment management conference in Utah, the Associated Press reported.
Now that’s a screaming case of the pot calling the kettle black if there ever was one. Mitt Romney has lashed out at The Donald for being a “phony and fraud”, but consider this. During his 16-years at Bain Capital, fully one-fourth or $600 million of the firms cumulative $2.5 billion of profits were scalped from companies which went bankrupt soon after Mitt and his partners got out of town with the loot.
No wonder the American voters did not believe him when he claimed to be the “job creator”!
Yes, the GOP establishment’s putative “jobs” candidate from 2012 was never really a businessman at all. He was an LBO strip-mining artist who rode the first Greenspan Bubble to riches between 1987 and 2000. Yet in the overwhelming share of the 77 investment deals he superintended during that period, he left behind financial cripples, zombies and Chapter Eleven bait.
As if the other elite puppet would have been any better.
Will Americans ever learn?
You have no choice. Period.
– Obama Worst President Since World War II, More Say US Would Be Better Under Romney, Latest Poll Finds (ZeroHedge, July 2, 2014):
The president is increasingly finding that telling the Mr. Chairmanwoman to rig the market to all time highs does not translate to a comparable popularity rating. In fact, just the opposite.
While Obama’s slide in the polls is nothing new, the latest data from the Quinnipiac University Poll is about as bad as it gets for the president: in fact, perhaps the only thing more shocking than Obama “surpassing” George W. Bush as the worst president since World War II is the onset of revisionism, with some 45% saying the US would have been better with Romney as president, compared to just 38% who say Obama remains the better choice. Which incidentally confirms what we reported yesterday: while the Republican view of Obama has certainly never been lower, what is worse is that even the core democrat faithful are now giving up on the hope and change bringer, confirmed by the latest Gallup poll which saw democrat confidence in the economy tumbling to the lowest level for 2014.
More from Washington Times:
From the article:
“The US annual budget deficit has almost tripled under Obama, from $450bn in 2008 to $1,200bn this year.”
“America’s national debt is now around $16,000bn, two-thirds higher than when Obama was first elected. In 2008, US government debt was 70pc of GDP. Now it is 102pc.”
“Debt growth at that pace simply cannot go on.”
“If fiscal and monetary stimulus worked, Japan wouldn’t have spent the past 20 years in and out of recession and now be shouldering a debt to GDP ratio of 250pc.”
“If printing money worked, Zimbabwe would be in the G7.”
– The US ‘cliff’ – one small part of a huge debt crisis (Telegraph, Dec 29, 2012):
So here we are, at the turn of the year, with the global economy tottering on the edge of America’s fiscal cliff.
What’s kept springing to my mind over the holiday season is the final scene of The Italian Job – the iconic 1969 original, not the tacky 2003 remake.
“Hang on a minute, lads,” says heistmaster-in-chief, Charlie Croker, as he and his merry band of crooks balance precariously in a bus on the edge of an Alpine cliff. “I’ve got a great idea.”
The Italian Job’s cliff-hanger finale is all make-believe. A brilliant film ends, we marvel at Michael Caine’s acting genius, the credits roll and then we get up and make some tea.
Real-world predicaments aren’t so easy.

– Coup and counter-coup in Washington (PressTV, Nov 19, 2012):
Sometimes, generals purge politicians. In 1648, during the English Civil War, Colonel Pride and his troops removed those members of the Long Parliament who opposed military domination; the puppets who remained were called the Rump Parliament.
This year, a cabal of generals evidently believed it could secure the White House for Mitt Romney by staging the Benghazi incident and using it as the signal for a cold coup under cover of elections — probably including computer-generated election fraud — to bring down Obama. They guessed wrong.

– The Special Interests Won Again (Paul Craig Roberts, Nov 7, 2012):
The election that was supposed to be too close to call turned out not to be so close after all. In my opinion, Obama won for two reasons: (1) Obama is non-threatening and inclusive, whereas Romney exuded a “us vs. them” impression that many found threatening, and (2) the election was not close enough for the electronic voting machines to steal.
As readers know, I don’t think that either candidate is a good choice or that either offers a choice. Washington is controlled by powerful interest groups, not by elections. What the two parties fight over is not alternative political visions and different legislative agendas, but which party gets to be the whore for Wall Street, the military-security complex, Israel Lobby, agribusiness, and energy, mining, and timber interests.

… but so the ‘other‘ elite puppet won! 🙂
OK, this is from the Duffel Blog!
I actually linked to the source but ‘forgot’ to say that this is supposed to be funny/satire/humor.
My apologies if this stired up your emotions.
The military would not vote for Romney (only for Ron Paul!!!), because Romney would have meant war with Iran and WW III.
Elite puppet teleprompter Obama is also only doing what he is told to do by his elite masters and that certainly leaves WW III on the table.
March, 2012: Open Mic? Obama Tells Russian President Medvedev ‘After My Election, I Have More Flexibility’ (FOX News, Video):
At a nuclear security summit in South Korea on Monday, President Obama talked to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev about missile defense in eastern Europe. During the conversation that was likely meant to be private, Obama assured Medvedev that he would have “more flexibility” after the November election.
Obama asked Medvedev to relay this message to Vladimir Putin, saying, “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense … this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space,” to which Medvedev told the president he understood.
Ed Henry reports that White House officials are saying that the president is just speaking to the political reality of the situation.
– Military Absentee Ballots Delivered One Day Late, Would Have Swung Election For Romney (The Duffel Blog, Nov 7, 2012):
WASHINGTON, DC – Sources confirmed today that hundreds of thousands of military absentee ballots were delivered hours after the deadline for them to be counted, with preliminary counts showing that they would have overturned the vote in several states and brought a victory for Governor Mitt Romney.Officials say the ballots were delivered late due to problems within the military mail system. Tracking invoices show the ballots sat in a warehouse for a month, then they were accidentally labeled as ammunition and shipped to Afghanistan. At Camp Dwyer, Marine Sergeant John Davis signed for them and was surprised at the contents.
“I told Gunny we got a bunch of ballots instead of ammo,” Davis told investigators earlier today. “He told me to file a report of improper delivery and that the chain of command would take care of it. We didn’t hear anything for three weeks. While we were waiting we came under fire so we dumped a bunch of them in the Hescoes. We didn’t dig those ones back out.”
After military officials realized the initial error, the ballots were then sent back to the U.S. but suffered a series of setbacks.
Twelve boxes of ballots were dropped overboard during delivery to the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) in the Persian Gulf, then while the ship sailed to Bahrain, postal clerks allegedly pocketed whatever ballots they wanted.
The remaining absentee ballots were loaded onto a C-130, but the flight was delayed until November 1st so the crew could get tax free pay for the month. Once the ballots arrived stateside they were promptly mailed to each state’s counting facility, reaching their final destination on November 7th.
“It’s a shame,” Rear Admiral John Dawes said when asked for comment. “I expected a delay so I ordered that everyone cast their votes eight months ago. It’s really unfortunate that our mail system failed us and directly affected the course of history.”
