Seattle Police Begin Gun Confiscations: No Laws Broken, No Warrant, No Charges:

A man in Seattle has had his gun confiscated by police after breaking no laws. The police took his gun without a warrant and without pressing any charges.  Tyranny has officially taken hold on American soil.

This sets a precedent that government can now forcefully take guns away from an individual without a crime being committed or an arrest being made and without a warrant. In the name of fear and political exploitation of anti-gun rhetoric, a citizen’s Second Amendment rights have been ripped away from him by the government.

The new “red flag” law, which has taken hold in other states already, allows the courts and law enforcement to take away guns from individuals they deem are dangerous and they’ve just begun the confiscationA man living in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, Washington became the first individual in the state to have his firearm confiscated without any formal arrest or charges.  The man was not identified by authorities.

Everything You Should Know About The 1994 Assault-Weapons Ban:

Authored by Donna Carol Voss , op-ed via The Daily Caller,

Here we go again. Another assault weapons ban rears its knee-jerk head. The Assault Weapons Ban of 2018 is the feel-good, we-have-to-do-something move. I’m all for it if it will make a positive difference. But it won’t. We already know that it won’t because of the 1994 assault weapons ban.

Remember how excited your mother was in 1994? “Honey,” she said, “finally we’re doing something about crime.” She did have a point since crime had been rising steadily through the eighties and early nineties. The ban seemed like a good idea at the time, and darn it if FBI crime statistics didn’t prove her right. (You hate it when that happens.) From 1994 to 2004, the violent crime rate dropped 35 percent.

‘Just Kidding’: Florida Senate Bans AR-15 Sales, Flip Flops Minutes Later

‘Just Kidding’: Florida Senate Bans AR-15 Sales, Flip Flops Minutes Later

State senators in Florida had imposed a ban on the sale of semi-automatic rifles like the one used during the February 14 school shooting spree; the ban lasted all of 15 minutes before it was swiftly rescinded by the very people who passed it in the first place.

The sales of AR-15 semi-automatic rifles in the state of Florida were nearly subjected to a two-year long moratorium when the state legislators first adopted the ban, before scrapping it almost immediately, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The motion was passed during an “unrecorded voice vote in which senators shouted yea or nay.” However, even though the senate president ruled that the amendment had passed, it was reconsidered and overturned in 15 minutes via a 21-17 roll call vote.

As the Hill points out, each ‘no’ vote was cast by a Republican senator.

“Take The Guns First” – Trump Breaks With Republicans Over Gun-Control Plan

“Take The Guns First” – Trump Breaks With Republicans Over Gun-Control Plan:

Update: US Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE). a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement regarding President Trump’s comments today on due process and the Second Amendment:

Strong leaders don’t automatically agree with the last thing that was said to them. We have the Second and due process of low for a reason.

We’re not ditching any Constitutional protections simply because the last person the President talked to today doesn’t like them.

President Trump told a group of lawmakers that they must do something to keep guns away from mentally ill individuals – even if that means raising the minimum age for rifle ownership to 21, Bloomberg reports.

His remarks appeared to contradict a CNN report from earlier in the week, which quoted anonymous White House aides saying Trump would soon walk back his support for raising the age limit.

But on Wednesday, in what the New York Times characterized as a “shocking” break with his Republican Congressional allies, Trump told lawmakers during a televised meeting in the Cabinet Room that easing gun owners’ ability to carry concealed weapons across state lines, a provision of the House-passed gun bill and the NRA’s top legislative priority, should be part of a separate bill, a strategy favored by Democrats. The House bill combining background check provisions with the loosening of concealed carry rules has stalled in the Senate after passing the House. Instead, Trump said he supports the proposal from Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Pat Toomey, R-Pa., which he says is best positioned to pass. Sen. Amy Klobuchar agreed that the Manchin-Toomey bill is a “good place to start.”

Federal Court Quietly Rules ‘Assault Rifles’ Not Protected by 2nd Amendment

Federal Court Quietly Rules ‘Assault Rifles’ Not Protected by 2nd Amendment:

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that the Second Amendment does not provide protection for what it deemed assault weapons, nor does it protect any magazine larger than 10 rounds.

Annapolis, MD — While Americans watched the 2018 Olympics and mainstream media put on scripted town hall meetings to demonize law-abiding citizens who own guns, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia handed down a blow to the Second Amendment.

In a 10-4 ruling, the federal court ruled that the state of Maryland’s ban on 45 different “assault” weapons and its 10-round limit for magazines was not a violation of the citizens’ constitutional rights. The ruling was not without harsh dissent, however.

Meet The California Special Agents Who Are “Coming For Your Guns”

Meet The California Special Agents Who Are “Coming For Your Guns”:

An oft-echoed line from the left is “No One Wants To Take Your Guns!” But as Kurt Schlichter notes, this is another classic lie.

In fact, that’s exactly what liberals want to do. How do we know? They tell us when they think we are not looking – and, with more frequency, when we are. It’s fun when they say they don’t want to take your guns, then say you have to give up your ARs. If your opponent is getting wistful about Australia’s gun confiscation, he wants to take your guns.

Let’s get serious. They all want to take your guns. Why? Two reasons. First, it takes power from the citizenry. Liberals love that. Second, gun rights are important to normal Americans because the fact we maintain arms means we are not mere subjects. We are citizens, with the power to defend our freedom. Liberals hate that we have that dignity; taking our guns would humiliate us, and show us who is boss. They want to disarms us not because of the gun crime – name a liberal who wants to really do something about Chicago as opposed to hassling law-abiding normals – but because they hate us and want to see us submit.

“Burn Her”, “Murderer”: Angry Crowd Lashes Out At NRA’s Dana Loesch

FYI.

“Burn Her”, “Murderer”: Angry Crowd Lashes Out At NRA’s Dana Loesch:

During last night’s “unscripted” CNN Town Hall on gun control, NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch was given the courtesy of expressing her opinion in the spirit of mutual respect. Well, almost.

During a question by Stoneman Douglas student Emma Gonzalez, the attendees screamed and heckled her, calling Loesch “a murderer,” as CNN moderator Jake Tapper kept quiet.

Gonzales’ prepared statement, which CNN *may or may not have* approved, or given her:

Alright. Dana Loesch, I want to know that we will support your two children in the way that you will not. The shooter at our school obtained weapons that he used on us legally. Do you believe that it should be harder to obtain the semi-automatic and weapons, and the modifications for these weapons to make them fully automatic like bump stocks?

First, Loesch responded by encouraging young people to speak up: “I don’t think that anyone should deny you your voice or deny you your position because you are young” which however quickly drew booing from the crowd.

She continued: “I don’t believe that this insane monster should have ever been able to obtain a firearm. Ever” and said “I do not think that he should have gotten his hands on any kind of weapon.”

As the angry crowd grew louder, Loesch twice interjected “let me answer the question” adding “you can shout me down when I’m finished, but let me answer Emma’s question,” to which someone shouted “You’re a murderer!”

Loesch’s attempt to discuss strengthening background checks drew even more cries of “Murderer!”

LOESCH: We had three lawmakers on this stage and only one of them hinted at reinforcing the background check system. It is only as good as the records submitted to it. Only one of them even got anywhere close to mentioning that. We have to have more than 38 states submit records. That’s number one.

HECKLER #1: Murderer!

HECKLER #2: You’re a murderer!

Mainstream Media Now Praising Trump as He Flip Flops and Promises Tyrannical Gun Control:

Gun owners and Trump supporters alike are voicing their concern over the president’s new push for stricter gun control legislation in the wake of the Florida shooting.

If there is one thing consistent about president Donald Trump, it is his inconsistencies. Since he was elected Trump has reneged on promises not to go into Afghanistan, putting America first, and eliminating Obamacare. This was all predictable. However, a recent move this week by the Trump administration has even his most ardent lapdogs crying out. Gun Control.

After the tragic shooting in Florida last week,Trump took to the limelight to begin banning and controlling. Up first on the agenda was the bump fire stock.

It didn’t matter at all to the president that the bump fire stock wasn’t used in the Florida shooting—but he took to moving to ban it anyway.

Florida’s ‘Teacher Of The Year’ Bluntly Explains Why School Violence Is Out Of Control

Florida’s ‘Teacher Of The Year’ Bluntly Explains Why School Violence Is Out Of Control:

The day after the horrific shooting that took place at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, she posted a rant on Facebook that has since gone viral. In the post, she talked about parental responsibility, compassion, and respect…and more than 823,000 people have “liked” the post and agreed with it, while more than 649,000 have shared it with others.

Here’s what Mrs. Raley had to say.

Okay, I’ll be the bad guy and say what no one else is brave enough to say, but wants to say. I’ll take all the criticism and attacks from everyone because you know what? I’m a TEACHER. I live this life daily. And I wouldn’t do anything else! But I also know daily I could end up in an active shooter situation.

NRA Silent as States, Feds Ban Gun Sales to Medical Marijuana Patients

NRA Silent as States, Feds Ban Gun Sales to Medical Marijuana Patients:

The National Rifle Association (NRA), which fancies itself a champion of the Second Amendment and gun rights, is nowhere to be found as state governments are moving to confiscate firearms from medical marijuana patients.

Police in Honolulu, Hawaii, recently sent out a letter to 30 medical cannabis patients warning them they had 30 days to hand over their guns. When medical cannabis becomes legal in Ohio in 2018, patients will not be permitted to own or possess firearms. Similar restrictions have been imposed in California and Oregon despite state policy, and they are not new.

In 2011, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive issued a warning that because cannabis is illegal at the federal level, patients cannot possess guns. “There are no exceptions in federal law for marijuana purportedly used for medicinal purposes, even if such use is sanctioned by state law,” the ATF said in 2011.

Despite the NRA’s vehemently opinionated stances on many issues, including whether or not suspected terrorists should have access to guns, the lobbying group had little to say at the time about the federal government’s infringements on cannabis patients’ gun rights, merely ‘reporting’ that If a person admits marijuana use to a licensed firearm dealer, the dealer is prohibited from transferring a firearm to that person because the dealer will have a ‘reasonable cause to believe’ that the person is an unlawful user.”

NRA-Republican Backed Bill Makes it Easier for Feds to Disarm Citizens

NRA-Republican Backed Bill Makes it Easier for Feds to Disarm Citizens:

On Wednesday, the Republican controlled house voted to further federalize gun laws in this country.

While Ryan McMaken has noted the danger in further centralizing gun legislation, there is another deeply troubling aspect to this bill: it expands the ability of the Federal government to restrict Americans’ right to bear arms.

Feds issue 4,000 orders to seize guns from people who failed background checks

Feds issue 4,000 orders to seize guns from people who failed background checks:

WASHINGTON— Federal authorities sought to take back guns from thousands of people the background check system should have blocked from buying weapons because they had criminal records, mental health issues or other problems that would disqualify them.

A USA TODAY review found that the FBI issued more than 4,000 requests last year for agents from the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives to retrieve guns from prohibited buyers.

It’s the largest number of such retrieval requests in 10 years, according to bureau records – an especially striking statistic after revelations that a breakdown in the background check system allowed a troubled Air Force veteran to buy a rifle later used to kill 26 worshipers at a Texas church last month.

San Diego gun buyback so successful police turn gun owners away

San Diego gun buyback so successful police turn gun owners away:

The San Diego Police Department’s no-questions-asked gun buyback was so successful that officers “ran out of money” and had to send people back home with their firearms.

“We ran out of money,” said police Capt. Alberto Leos of the department’s Southern Division as cited by The San Diego Tribune. “We gave out $25,000 in gift cards.”

San Diego police reportedly bought back a total of 164 guns Saturday, up from the 47 that were handed in at a similar event earlier this year. Officers running the event handed out a $150 Walmart gift card per handgun or rifle handed in.

So-called “assault weapons” or semi-automatic rifles were worth $250 in gift cards. By mid-afternoon, officers had to turn people away. “Explosives, ammunition or inert devices” were not accepted at the event.

“Surrender Your Firearms” Hawaii Police Plan To Confiscate Guns From All Medical Marijuana Users

…, shall NOT be infringed.

“Surrender Your Firearms” Hawaii Police Plan To Confiscate Guns From All Medical Marijuana Users:

The Honolulu Police Department has sent a series of letters to local medical marijuana patients that directly orders them to surrender their firearms or, presumably, face state sanctioned violence to remove them.

Signed by Honolulu Police Chief Susan Ballard, the letters “inform” patients that upon receipt of the confiscation order, a citizen has 30 days to turn over their guns to the police. This stunning move amounts to direct gun confiscation for people who have no history of violent crimes.

Gunmaker Remington faces default as Americans buy fewer firearms

Gunmaker Remington faces default as Americans buy fewer firearms:

Remington Outdoor, the second-largest U.S. gunmaker has suffered a “rapid” and “sharp” deterioration in sales and a similar drop in profits since January, and faces “continued softness in consumer demand for firearms,” credit analysts at Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings said in a report Friday.

S&P as a result has cut the company’s corporate credit rating — already at a junk-bond-level CCC+ — two full notches, to CCC-, a move likely to make the company’s high-yield debt less attractive to investors and lenders, and force Remington to pay more in interest. The company could face a change in control, bankruptcy, or default on its debt by next year.
