Last January we reported on uber-lib movie producer and Obama supporter Harvey Weinstein bragging he would produce a film attacking the Second Amendment and targeting the National Rifle Association. Weinstein told Howard Stern the NRA would “wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”

– BREAKING: Idaho governor signs emergency legislation nullifying all future federal gun laws (Ben Swann, March 22, 2014):

BOISE, March 21, 2014 – On Thursday, Idaho Governor Butch Otter (R) signed a bill, which would effectively nullify future federal gun laws, by prohibiting state enforcement of any future federal act relating to personal firearms, a firearm accessories or ammunition.

S1332 passed the house by a vote of 68-0 and the senate by a vote of 34-0. Alaska and Kansas have also passed similar laws.

Erich Pratt, Director of Communications for Gun Owners of America, cheered the governor’s action. “By signing this nullification bill into law, Idaho has joined an elite class of states that are telling the feds to ‘get lost’ — especially when it comes to unconstitutional gun control infringements”

Introduced by the State Affairs Committee, the Idaho Federal Firearm, Magazine and Register Ban Enforcement Act, will:

“protect Idaho law enforcement officers from being directed, through federal executive orders, agency orders, statutes, laws, rules, or regulations enacted or promulgated on or after the effective date of this act, to violate their oath of office and Idaho citizens’ rights under Section 11, Article I, of the Constitution of the State of Idaho.”

A man who fled Cuba’s communist regime in the 1960s blasted Oregon lawmakers Thursday during a public hearing on proposed gun control legislation.

Manuel Martinez, who narrowly escaped Cuba in 1962 after being imprisoned for opposing Fidel Castro, passionately defended the Second Amendment in front of Oregon’s Senate Judiciary Committee, comparing the state’s attempts to pass gun control to moves made by his former government.

“Don’t sell me this. A very powerful man tried to sell me this 50-something years ago, I didn’t buy it,” Martinez said. “This is Marxism, plain and clear.”

The legislation, Senate Bill 1551, proposes massively expanding background checks to almost every private sale, somehow expected to force criminals to voluntarily submit to a records check.

“They put this dog and pony show saying hey, we are going to protect you. No, what they did was enslave a country,” Martinez said. “They destroyed a country the same way that this country is going to be destroyed if we continue in this fashion. This is what you’re selling here!” Martinez said, holding up old communist magazines from Cuba.

The first police raids to take legally purchased guns commenced in California. The state has the strictest gun laws in the country now, and is definitely not pro Second Amendment in the state.

California has been gearing up for this moment. Now they have made a move to confiscate legally purchased fire arms. They have expanded on their list of “prohibited persons” to have fire arms to include minor misdemeanors and “mental health concerns”. Some of the people are being not allowed their Second Amendment rights for various reasons including being behind on their taxes.

The state hired 20,000 more officers in preparation for the new confiscation legislation. They also authorized more than $24 million in new gear and weapons for their confiscation team. One of their targets was a man by the name of Joe Mendez.

The searches are conducted without warrants — unless the targeted individuals refuse to cooperate, in which case the raiders will “seek a warrant and lock down the house until they get results.” California Governor Jerry Brown recently signed a bill that will use a $24 million surplus from firearms purchase fees to hire 36 new jackboots for the squad.

The bodies of the casualties from yesterday’s latest mass shooting incident have not been buried yet, but already the president, fresh from his embarrassing foreign relations defeat with Russia and not to mention the ongoing NSA snafu, is back in ‘distract em with a campaign-cum-crusade mode’ after calling, once again, for Congress to pass gun control legislation this time in an interview with Noticias Telemundo.

One can only assume the president was himself too distracted by all his recent scandals and/or was just spying too hard on the American people to recall that it was only in April that the Democratically-controlled Senate killed an amendment to a Democratic gun control bill, which was the first and biggest slap in the face of the freshly re-elected president so far in 2013 (little did we know it was only downhill from there), and made a mockery of Obama’s crusade to enact gun control.

In the past, I have corresponded with a few survivors of communist despotism, and what I have found is that most if not all immigrants that actually lived in a collectivized state with a disarmed population fight harder to defend the U.S. Constitution than half of the people who were actually born here.  There are a lot of overgrown children in this country today who have NO understanding of the consequences of the path our society has been set on.  They look to big government to take care of them because they are too lazy or apathetic to do it for themselves.  They look to big government to protect them because they are cowardly and have no concept of self-defense.  They look to big government as an attack dog that they can hide behind when they seek to impose their ideology and zealotry on the rest of us.  They bow down to big government because they are afraid of becoming the “nail that sticks out”.  They submit to authoritarianism because they have no honor, and, no sense of appreciation when it comes to the concept of true liberty.

These sad but useful idiots within our population love to argue in the name of the state, constantly claiming that the ongoing restrictions of our individual freedoms and constitutional rights are “for the greater good” of our society as a whole.  They insist that even though the political measures being taken in the U.S. today are almost identical to those implemented in communist police states, this time “things will be different”.  This time, the collectivists will “get it right”.  Not surprising, though, is the fact that the vast majority of those that call for rights restrictions and socialized mega-government have never actually lived under the kind of system they are demanding.  They have absolutely NO idea what it is really like, nor do they ever attempt to learn from those who comprehend full well.

Some people know.  Some people have lived it.  Some people have experienced the consequences first hand.  And, for anyone with the intelligence to listen, this is what they have to say about gun control and the path to tyranny…

On the day that President Obama announced his determination to defy the will of the US Congress and push for an assault weapons ban, he could hardly have wished for a greater gift than the one handed him by the National Rifle Association.

That’s right. Once again the main lobby group for gun owners went right ahead and shot itself in the foot, releasing an advert that turned Mr Obama’s innocent teenage daughters into pawns in the fight over gun control.

The White House managed to contain its glee, correctly describing the advert as “repugnant and cowardly” for calling Mr Obama an “elitist hypocrite” for letting his daughters have armed protection (their Secret Service detail) but denying the same protection to ordinary folk.

You have to wonder who is advising the NRA at the moment, and how long it will take “responsible gun owners” to rise up and do away with a leadership that is so badly misrepresenting them?
