The radical ideology of Salafism is making inroads into the Muslim community in Germany. Once thought to comprise of a handful of hard-core extremists the belief, which shares many of the same tenants as Saudi Wahabism, has expanded in the last three years from 5,500 known members to over 9,200, reports Germany’s Tagesspiegel.

BERLIN (AP) — Police say some 100 officers had to get between far-right Germans and asylum-seekers who were fighting in the eastern German town of Bautzen.
Bautzen police spokesman Thomas Knaup said Thursday around 80 Germans and 20 migrants were attacking each other Wednesday night on a market square.
Police had to separate the groups and were attacked with bottles by some of the asylum-seekers.

A huge group of between 40 and 50 migrants attacked the security at their asylum camp using fists and stones to beat the guards who were forced to call in local police to quell the riot.
A migrant camp built in an industrial area of the Eastern German town of Hessisch Lichtenau was the scene of a massive wave of violence from up to 50 asylum seekers who turned on the men hired to guard them.
Police were alerted at 10:15pm by the guards who had reported that the situation had gotten out of their control as the migrants set upon them, attacking them with fists and even throwing large rocks at them reports local paper Hessische/Niedersächsische Allgemeine.
