- Milly was irreversibly brain damaged by ‘the new thalidomide’
- Her mother was prescribed with sodium valproate to control epilepsy
- As many as 45,000 babies in the UK have been affected
Sometimes, on a soft grey morning, there comes a surge of happiness so intense that for a few, fleeting moments, all is right in my world. It is a treat, frequently indulged, for my grand-daughter Milly to trot down from her home upstairs to my granny-flat and to sleep with her nan, in my old brass bed. So I wake to wide eyes, just inches away, and when they meet mine, a beam crosses her face to light the skies.
- Epilepsy Foundation warning shows that television, movies can reprogram brain neurology (Natural News, Dec. 12, 2011):
Rapidly flashing lights and other fast-moving visual effects in movies, television, and video games can trigger sudden epileptic seizures and other neurological disorders in humans, and a recent warning by an epilepsy group confirms this. According to the Baltimore Sun, the Maryland-based Epilepsy Foundation recently issued a warning about the new, hit movie Breaking Dawn, which is part of the Twilight series, that essentially proves popular media’s ability to reprogram brain neurology.
Reports claim that an “intense birth scene” in Breaking Dawn that contains multi-colored visual strobe light effects has caused a number of moviegoers around the world to experience sudden seizures and other illness. And the trigger is allegedly so powerful and widespread that the Epilepsy Foundation has recommended that individuals prone to certain types of seizures avoid the film completely.
“If you were parents of a child with epilepsy, you would not send your child to the movie,” said Mimi Carter, director of communications at the Epilepsy Foundation, to reporters about the potential dangers of seeing the film. “Why would you risk it?”
A mother whose son suffered severe brain damage after being given the MMR vaccine as a baby has been awarded £90,000 compensation.
Jackie Fletcher has campaigned for compensation for her son Robert – now 18 – because she believed his severe epilepsy was triggered by the jab.
Now a tribunal has ordered that the payment be made, after concluding that it could be “no coincidence” that he suffered his first seizure 10 days after being vaccinated.
All injections carry the risk of extreme reactions, and in rare cases, children have been left brain-damaged by them.
Police officers fired a 50,000-volt stun gun charge into a man who had collapsed with a major epileptic seizure, the policing complaints watchdog said yesterday.
The man, 40, who has accused police of being negligent and using excessive force, claims that he was Tasered five times despite police being told about his medical condition.
He spent more than two weeks in hospital after the incident, which is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
Sophie Khan, the man’s solicitor, said her client had been in a gym when the seizure occurred. “The officers were made aware by the ambulance staff and the gym staff that he was suffering from an epileptic seizure but they continued to Taser him in the stomach and forcibly restrain him in a manner that has caused him long-term nerve damage to his wrists and back,” she said. End of light as we know it: Millions of Britons are stocking up to grab the last of the traditional bulbs
Millions of Britons are finally waking up to the fact that their beloved light bulb will disappear for good after 120 years.
Traditional 100-watt bulbs are vanishing from the High Street because of a controversial European Union decision.
Yesterday panic buyers were snapping up the remaining bulbs in a last-ditch attempt to stockpile the final supplies. Hundreds of leading supermarkets and DIY chains – including Sainsbury’s, Asda and Homebase – have already sold their last remaining bulbs after a surge in panic buying.
Other stores say they have enough stocks to last until the end of next week.
The supplies are running out after the Government signed up to an EU decision to replace conventional 100w light bulbs with supposedly greener low energy alternatives.
Ministers claim the switch will reduce carbon dioxide by around five million tons each year.
But experts have questioned whether or not the new bulbs, far from being environmentally friendly, are actually harmful.
The low-energy fluorescent bulbs can trigger skin rashes, migraines and epilepsy.
There is also concern because the fluorescent bulbs contain mercury, which makes them dangerous to get rid of.
They can also be more expensive. Currently, an average supermarket price for a six pack of standard 60w pearl light bulbs is £1.21, but a single 60w low energy stick light bulb already costs around £2.19.
Retailers stopped replenishing supplies of conventional incandescent 100w bulbs at the start of the year under a ‘voluntary’ Government scheme to force people to buy green compact fluorescent lights.
But concerns about the poor quality light of low energy bulbs – and the fact that most don’t work with dimmer switches – has led to tens of thousands of people stockpiling supplies.
Think U.S. health authorities have never conducted outrageous medical experiments on children, women, minorities, homosexuals and inmates? Think again: This timeline, originally put together by Dani Veracity (a NaturalNews reporter), has been edited and updated with recent vaccination experimentation programs in Maryland and New Jersey. Here’s what’s really happening in the United States when it comes to exploiting the public for medical experimentation:
(1845 – 1849) J. Marion Sims, later hailed as the “father of gynecology,” performs medical experiments on enslaved African women without anesthesia. These women would usually die of infection soon after surgery. Based on his belief that the movement of newborns’ skull bones during protracted births causes trismus, he also uses a shoemaker’s awl, a pointed tool shoemakers use to make holes in leather, to practice moving the skull bones of babies born to enslaved mothers (Brinker).
New York pediatrician Henry Heiman infects a 4-year-old boy whom he calls “an idiot with chronic epilepsy” with gonorrhea as part of a medical experiment (“Human Experimentation: Before the Nazi Era and After”).
Harvard professor Dr. Richard Strong infects prisoners in the Philippines with cholera to study the disease; 13 of them die. He compensates survivors with cigars and cigarettes. During the Nuremberg Trials, Nazi doctors cite this study to justify their own medical experiments (Greger, Sharav).
Dr. Hideyo Noguchi of the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research publishes data on injecting an inactive syphilis preparation into the skin of 146 hospital patients and normal children in an attempt to develop a skin test for syphilis. Later, in 1913, several of these children’s parents sue Dr. Noguchi for allegedly infecting their children with syphilis (“Reviews and Notes: History of Medicine: Subjected to Science: Human Experimentation in America before the Second World War”).
Medical experimenters “test” 15 children at the children’s home St. Vincent’s House in Philadelphia with tuberculin, resulting in permanent blindness in some of the children. Though the Pennsylvania House of Representatives records the incident, the researchers are not punished for the experiments (“Human Experimentation: Before the Nazi Era and After”).
Dr. Joseph Goldberger, under order of the U.S. Public Health Office, produces Pellagra, a debilitating disease that affects the central nervous system, in 12 Mississippi inmates to try to find a cure for the disease. One test subject later says that he had been through “a thousand hells.” In 1935, after millions die from the disease, the director of the U.S Public Health Office would finally admit that officials had known that it was caused by a niacin deficiency for some time, but did nothing about it because it mostly affected poor African-Americans. During the Nuremberg Trials, Nazi doctors used this study to try to justify their medical experiments on concentration camp inmates (Greger; Cockburn and St. Clair, eds.). Continue reading »
