Bernie Sanders Blasts “The Business Model Of Wall Street Is Fraud”

Video of the Day – Bernie Sanders Says “I Think the Business Model of Wall Street is Fraud” (Liberty Blitzkrieg, Aug 30, 2015):

During a recent interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Bernie Sanders exclaimed: “I think the business model of Wall Street is fraud.”

Basically. Unfortunately, it will never change until serious jail sentences are handed out for the serious fraud, as opposed to taxpayer bailouts.

Watch the interview here. Is it really surprising that he’s close to catching Wall Street handler Hillary Clinton?

–  Election 2016 Data Released – Jeb Bush Receives 3% of Funds from Small Donors vs. Bernie Sanders at 81% (Liberty Blitzkrieg, July 16, 2015):

Yesterday represented the first deadline for many 2016 Presidential candidates to file Federal Election Commission details on how they are raising and spending campaign money. The information is very interesting and will leave you with little doubt as to which puppets, I mean candidates, the oligarchs are supporting.

One metric that is getting a great deal of attention today, is the percentage of funds raised coming from small donors ($200 or less). The New York Times put together a user-friendly image of this data, which can be seen below:

Bernie Sanders’ Troubling History of Supporting US Military Violence Abroad

“I was a bit concerned when Bernie Sanders was so silent on the quick passage of the debacle of a trade deal yesterday…….
Here is another view of Sanders…….”

Bernie Sanders’ Troubling History of Supporting US Military Violence Abroad (Alternet, May 15, 2015):

Why aren’t we talking about Sanders’ foreign policy more?

The presidential candidacy of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has excited many liberals throughout the country, but there’s been very little analysis of his foreign policy positions. This past Sunday Sanders criticized Hillary Clinton for her support of the Iraq war, declaring, “On foreign policy, Hillary Clinton voted for the war in Iraq…Not only I voted against, I helped lead the effort against what I knew would be a disaster.” Sanders assertion about Clinton is obviously true, but the difference between the two candidates on war is hardly substantial and his political closet is filled with as many skeletons. Notably he supported NATO’s bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, a stance which caused one of his staffers to resign in protest.

Enter the Sand-man: Socialist Bernie Sanders blasts billionaires, corporations in presidential bid announcement (RT, April 30, 2015):

Noted critic of economic inequality, corporations and the rich, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said he was running for president to buck the system in which billionaire families were able to buy elections and candidates.

The Supreme Court’s “disastrous” decision in Citizens United created the situation in which “billionaires are literally able to buy elections and candidates,” Sanders argued. Billionaire families, he charged, are spending “hundreds and hundreds” of millions to back candidates, “often extreme right-wing” ones.

Sanders brought up the Koch brothers, major Republican donors, who he said were spending $900 million in the coming election to campaign for abolishing Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

I wonder now, in this day and age, whether it is possible for any candidate who is not a billionaire, or who is not beholden to the billionaire class, to be able to run successful campaigns,” he said. “And if that is the case, I want you all to recognize what a sad state of affairs that is for American democracy.”

Bernie Sanders: ‘I am running for president’ (Al Jazeera, April 29, 2015):

Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont said Wednesday he will run for president as a Democrat, promising to fight what he deems “obscene levels” of income disparity and vowing to do more than just raise progressive issues.

“I believe [voters] want a fundamental change so that government works for ordinary Americans and not just billionaires,” Sanders told USA Today. He said he would make the announcement official on Thursday.

via Brascheck TV:

Senator Bernie Sanders is one of the few politicians in Washington who speaks the truth unapologetically. In this powerful short speech, Sanders speaks what the conscience of the American people is certainly thinking… This nation is an oligarchy, and our income distribution is worsening every day. At least we can take pride in knowing that one elected representative in Washington may actually be representing the American people.

When Asked If The U.S. Is A Capitalist Democracy Or Oligarchy, Janet Yellen Can’t Answer … (Video)

When Asked if the U.S. is a Capitalist Democracy or Oligarchy, Janet Yellen Can’t Answer… (Liberty Blitzkrieg, May 8, 2014):

During yesterday’s Senate hearings, Janet Yellen was asked by Senator Bernie Sanders if the U.S. was a capitalist democracy or has morphed into an oligarchy. While readers of this site already know the answer to this question, which was recently proved empirically by a Princeton and Northwestern academic study, it was still stunning to note her unwillingness to answer the question.

I will give her some credit for not flat out lying about it. She inherently understands that the U.S. is a corrupt, shameful oligarchy, but as head of the institution most responsible for this transformation she simply cannot tell the truth. It is incredible that things have fallen so far that a U.S. Senator felt compelled to ask such a question, and even worse that such a powerful official couldn’t vehemently and decisively deny the claim.

Where I take exception with Sanders, is that he appears to live under some strange sort of hypnosis that makes him think only Republican oligarchs are problematic. Of course no sane person should draw any serious distinction between establishment Democrats or Republicans. Furthermore, he also makes the mistake of focusing on the 1%, when the real problem resides in a far smaller  0.01%, which I described in my post: Where Does the Real Problem Reside? Two Charts Showing the 0.01% vs. the 1%.

Sen. Bernie Sanders Passionately Decries The American Oligarchy On The Senate Floor (Video)

Bernie Sanders Passionately Decries the American Oligarchy on the Senate Floor (Liberty, Blitzkrieg, Sep 20, 2013):

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont is the longest serving Independent member of Congress in American history. While I certainly don’t agree with him on everything, I have always respected his willingness to call out the Federal Reserve for the fascist cartel that it is. He has often accurately called it “socialism for the rich.”

Back in 2010 he explained:

The Federal Reserve loaned $16.1 billion to General Electric and $3 billion to JPMorgan Chase during the 2008 financial crisis, even as Jeffrey R. Immelt of G.E. and Jamie Dimon of JPMorgan sat on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York board of directors. “It is an obvious conflict of interest,” Sen. Bernie Sanders said on Sunday.  Sanders wrote the amendment to the Wall Street reform law that required the Fed to disclose some 21,000 transactions involving more than $3.3 trillion during the financial crisis. Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke tried to keep the information secret. It appears  that we are very much a country in which we practice socialism for the rich and rugged capitalism for everyone else.

Bernie recently took to the Senate floor to decry the plutocratic, oligarch driven Banana Republic that America has turned into ever since the Wall Street coup of 2008. In a town filled with unconscious money grabbing zombies, he is a giant breath of fresh air. Enjoy.

Senator Bernie Sanders: The Veil of Secrecy at the Fed Has Been Lifted, Now It’s Time for Change

The Veil of Secrecy at the Fed Has Been Lifted, Now It’s Time for Change (Huffington Post, Nov. 2, 2011):

As a result of the greed, recklessness, and illegal behavior on Wall Street, the American people have experienced the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Millions of Americans, through no fault of their own, have lost their jobs, homes, life savings, and ability to send their kids to college. Small businesses have been unable to get the credit they need to expand their businesses, and credit is still extremely tight. Wages as a share of national income are now at the lowest level since the Great Depression, and the number of Americans living in poverty is at an all-time high.

Meanwhile, when small-business owners were being turned down for loans at private banks and millions of Americans were being kicked out of their homes, the Federal Reserve provided the largest taxpayer-financed bailout in the history of the world to Wall Street and too-big-to-fail institutions, with virtually no strings attached.

Over two years ago, I asked Ben Bernanke, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, a few simple questions that I thought the American people had a right to know: Who got money through the Fed bailout? How much did they receive? What were the terms of this assistance?

Incredibly, the chairman of the Fed refused to answer these fundamental questions about how trillions of taxpayer dollars were being spent.
