Netanyahu: US, Israel have ‘grand mission’ to confront Iran threat:

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News’ “Hannity” Thursday night that his country and the United States have a “grand mission” to confront the threat of a nuclear Iran.

Netanyahu, who met President Donald Trump at the White House Wednesday, told host Sean Hannity that Tehran’s aggressive rhetoric toward Israel is meant to mask their intentions against the U.S.

Truck attack kills 4 Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem

Truck attack kills 4 Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem:

JERUSALEM (AP) — A Palestinian truck driver rammed his vehicle into a crowd of Israeli soldiers at a popular Jerusalem tourist spot Sunday, killing four people and wounding 17 others in the deadliest single attack of more than a year of Israeli-Palestinian violence.

The attack came at a time of heightened tensions in Jerusalem, where Palestinians have warned of dire consequences if incoming President Donald Trump follows through on his promise to move the U.S. Embassy to the city. The atmosphere among Israelis is also charged following last week’s manslaughter conviction of an Israeli soldier who fatally shot a wounded Palestinian attacker.

Visiting the attack site, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there was strong evidence the attacker was a supporter of the Islamic State group and suggested a link to previous vehicle attacks in Europe.

Netanyahu thanks US House for vote to slam anti-Israel UN resolution:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his gratitude to US legislators after the House of Representatives voted in condemnation of a recent UN Security Council resolution demanding a halt to the Tel Aviv regime’s settlement expansion policy.

Netanyahu, in a video statement published on Friday, described the anti-Israel resolution, which was adopted on December 23, 2016, as outrageous and one-sided, stating that House members “voted to either repeal the resolution at the UN or change it – and that’s exactly what we intend to do.”

Trump Slams Obama “Inflammatory Statements”, Tells Israel To “Stay Strong, Jan 20 Is Fast Approaching”:

Just when you thought it was safe to turn Twitter down from ’11’, president-elect Donald Trump unleashes a triple whammy tweet-storm against the Obama administration, “shocking” the mainstream media with his frankness.

First, he took direct aim at Obama, assuing the outgoing president of hobbling the transition to the Republican’s administration by unspecified “inflammatory” statements and “roadblocks,” as tensions between the two men spilled into the open less than a month before Inauguration Day.

Then unloaded a double-tweet aimed at the treatment of Israel. As a reminder, last week, Obama ordered Samantha Power to abstain from a vote on a resolution declaring Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal, allowing the measure to pass. Obama also said in an interview published by CNN on Monday that he would have beaten Trump, had he run for a third term.

Colin Powell Leaked Emails Reveal Israel Has “200 Nuclear Bombs”:

Former US secretary of state and four-star general Colin Powell says Israel possesses 200 nuclear weapons, in an email apparently leaked by Russian hackers.

According to Judah Ari Gross of The Times of Israel, “Discussing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s March 2015 speech to Congress about the dangers posed by the Iranian nuclear deal, in an email he sent to US Democratic party donor Jeffrey Leeds, Powell wrote that he doubted the Iranian regime would use an atomic bomb even if it could get one, since “the boys in Tehran know Israel has 200, all targeted on Tehran, and we have thousands.” The email was published by theLobeLog foreign policy website.

Israel maintains a policy of so-called nuclear ambiguity, they will not publicly confirm or deny the existence of an atomic arsenal.

If agreed upon, the talks would be the first between the two leaders in several years, amid the ongoing rift in the region.

Israel approves 800 settler homes in & outside E. Jerusalem after teen killing:

A massive construction of homes in East Jerusalem and the surrounding area has been approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The new construction is being seen as a form of retaliation for attacks by Palestinians.

On Sunday, Netanyahu and his freshly-appointed defense minister, Avigdor Lieberman, signed off on plans for putting up 560 new housing units in Ma’ale Adumim, a West Bank settlement right outside the capital, according to the Jerusalem Post. Around 140 homes more were approved for the Jewish East Jerusalem neighborhood of Ramot and other 100 for the Har Homa neighborhood, in southeast Jerusalem.

Netanyahu’s Former Advisor Appointed As Facebooks ‘Head Of Policy’:

Alaraby reports:

Jordana Cutler, also chief of staff at the Israeli embassy in Washington, has joined Facebook’s Israel office to oversee the planning and execution of measures taken to combat BDS campaigns.

Cutler’s new post was applauded by the minister of public security Gilad Erdan, who announced on Thursday a series of legislative measures taken by his government against promoting the boycott of Israel.

“If we want to convince the world that de-legitimation of Israel is something wrong and that there should be consequences, we must start here in Israel,” Erdan was quoted by Israeli media as saying during a conference in Herzliya.

“There will now be a real price to pay for someone working […] to isolate [Israel] from the rest of the world. I set up a legal team, together with the ministry of justice, that will promote governmental legislation on the matter,” Erdan said.

Canada’s Pro-Israel Lobby Attempts to Shut Down “Peaceful Pressure” against Israel’s Systematic Violations of International Law

Canada’s Pro-Israel Lobby Attempts to Shut Down “Peaceful Pressure” against Israel’s Systematic Violations of International Law:

The latest attempt of the Zionist lobby in Canada to shut down attempts to organize peaceful pressure against the state of Israel’s systematic violations of international law came at what must have seemed an opportune moment. On May 17, the day that Bill 202, “the Standing Up Against Anti-Semitism Act, 2016: An Act respecting participation in boycotts and and other anti-Semitic actions”, was presented to the Ontario provincial legislature in Toronto and quickly passed first reading, Ontario Premier Katherine Wynne was in Israel, where she warmly shook the hand of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Wynne was reported as stating during that five-day visit that “any movement like the BDS [Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions] movement that is based on anti-Semitism, that is based on division and promotes hatred, is just unacceptable.”1 Although at the same time Wynne also declared herself a supporter of free speech, the proponents of Bill 202, former Conservative Party leader Tim Hudak, Liberal Party deputy speaker of the House Mike Colle, and Avi Benlolo, the President and CEO of Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies, who drafted it with them,2 may have hoped that it could be rushed through the House without significant opposition: the bill was scheduled for second and third readings on May 19 and 20.

Russia slaps Israel in the face

Russia slaps Israel in the face:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s recent visit to Moscow and his negotiations with President Putin, for the fourth time this year, has created the impression of failure. Russia and Israel have been developing active cooperation recently in the field of culture, trade and customs and  education.

However, Netanyahu’s visit to Moscow does look like a failure from the point of view of foreign policy. In an official statement for the press, President Putin spoke about “open” and “constructive” nature of the talks with the Israeli PM. In the diplomatic world, though, when negotiations are held in a friendly and even neutral fashion, they usually say that the talks were held “in a friendly atmosphere.” This is something that we have not heard from the Kremlin this time. In other words, there is no understanding between Russian and Israeli leaders.

‘War minister!’ Hundreds rally in Tel Aviv to decry Israeli PM’s defense chief pick

‘War minister!’ Hundreds rally in Tel Aviv to decry Israeli PM’s defense chief pick:

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday to protest the far-right turn the government has signaled by choosing Avigdor Lieberman as Defense Minister. Activists say PM Benjamin Netanyahu is putting Israel on a path of war.

Demonstrators came together at HaBima Square in Tel Aviv, saying that by appointing Lieberman to head the military, Netanyahu had created the “most right wing government in the history of the State,” Israeli media reported.

“We think this government is a disaster for our country,” the Jerusalem Post quoted one of the organizers as shouting. “There is no future or vision.”

Protesters held up Peace Now signs and waved green left-wing Meretz party flags as they chanted slogans with Netanyahu’s nickname: “Bibi you failed, Bibi go home,” and “We don’t want more victims, Lieberman is a minister of war.”

Israel mulls legalizing execution of Palestinians: Report

Israel mulls legalizing execution of Palestinians: Report:

Israel reportedly mulls legalizing execution of the Palestinians that the regime in Tel Aviv finds guilty of attacking Israelis.

According to a report by Israel’s Channel 10, Israeli Prime Benjamin Netanyahu and Avigdor Lieberman, the newly-appointed minister of military affairs, have reached an agreement on the measure.

According to the measure, the opinion of as few as two judges sitting on a panel — and not the majority of them — would suffice to convict a Palestinian of such an attack.

Netanyahu to meet Donald Trump in Israel this month:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with Donald Trump when the Republican presidential front-runner arrives in Israel later this month, Israeli officials said Wednesday.

On the stump, Trump has complained that the Obama administration “was the worst thing that’s happened to Israel.”

Trump has said a nuclear deal reached with Iran in July could led to another “Holocaust.” Netanyahu has said the nuclear deal exposes Israel to an existential threat by Iran, whose leaders have called for the destruction of Israel.

“Israel was sold out by Kerry and Obama,” Trump said in August, referring to Secretary of State John F. Kerry, the chief U.S. negotiator. “You cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. You can’t have it. When they march down the street saying ‘Death to Israel. Death to the United States.’ You can’t let that happen.”
