Vatileaks scandal: Vatican properties ‘used as brothels and massage parlours where priests pay for sex,’ claims report:

Some observers believe the leaks are part of a campaign to undermine Pope Francis’s effort to reform the Curia

Vatican-owned properties in Rome are operating as seedy saunas and massage parlours where priests pay for sex, according to the latest in a series of leaked reports to embarrass the Church.

It is also claimed that Vatican officials are allowing buildings to be rented out at peppercorn rents as favours to powerful colleagues and turning a blind eye to shady property deals, as well as allowing addresses to be used as red-light establishments.

EU Commissioner’s Dire Warning: “The Only Alternative To Europe Is War”

EU Commissioner’s Dire Warning: “The Only Alternative To Europe Is War”:

While the saying goes “good fences make good neighbors,” it appears the leadership of The EU is starting to get frustrated with the lack of acquiescence among some of the ‘union’s’ newer or more marginal members. In a somewhat stunning statement, following ongoing and contentious meetings to discuss solutions to the migrant ‘problem’, EU Commissioner Timmermanns appeared to warn disagreeable member states, “There is an alternative to everything. I believe in EU cooperation because of all other forms in history have been tried to help Europeans get on better, and with the exception of this one, all other forms have led to war – so let’s stick to this one.”

As Elsevier reports (via Google Translate),

European leaders read the last few days the alarm about the survival of the European Union (EU). Prague said Commissioner Frans Timmermans (PvdA) Friday that the EU is only one alternative: war.

Russia’s 5G PAK-FA T-50 fighter debuts with stunt program at MAKS-2015 (VIDEO)

Russia’s 5G PAK-FA T-50 fighter debuts with stunt program at MAKS-2015 (VIDEO):

Russia’s first 5G fighter has showed off in full its ultra-maneuverability at an international air show near Moscow. In 2016 the Russian Air Force will get ready to put the first production models of the stealth fighter jet into service.

The jet performed such aerobatic stunts as Pougachev’s cobra, Frolov’s chakra, the dead leaf and tail-dive.

With a month left before the multirole PAK-FA (T-50) fighter is set to be added to the inventory of the Russian Air Force (series delivery slated for 2017), the 5G aircraft’s designers have spilt the beans about the PAK-FA’s operational capability.

The current 5G jet engines, which are used in the 4++ Su-35S fighter jet, will be replaced with brand new ones designed specifically for the PAK-FA. Even the current engines have supercruise capability and full authority digital engine control.

Jihadi John ‘dead’: British associate on Mohammed Emwazi detained in Turkey – live updates:

The jihadist was targeted as he travelled through the Isis stronghold of Raqqa, Syria

The British Isis militant known as Jihadi John has been targeted by a US air strike in Syria. Here are the latest updates:

Mohammed Emwazi, who appeared in a series of gory propaganda videos showing the beheading of foreign journalists and aid workers last year, was targeted in the Isis stronghold of Raqqa last night. There has been no official confirmation of his death but a senior US military official told Fox News: “We are 99 per cent sure we got him.”

Philip Hammond told Reuters the British government “believes the strike was successful”, while David Cameron stopped short of confirming the hit but praised a “strike at the heart of Isis”.

Activists from anti-Isis group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently said a drone targeted the car Emwazi was travelling in at around 11.41pm local time (9.41pm GMT) and that around a dozen more air strikes were counted before midnight.

The Pentagon has confirmed the air strike but said it would not formally announce the result until it had been fully assessed.

Germany: Migration Crisis Becomes Public Health Crisis

Germany: Migration Crisis Becomes Public Health Crisis:

  • German hospitals are increasing security to protect doctors and nurses from violent attacks by migrants who are unhappy with the medical treatment they are receiving.
  • Critics are warning that German taxpayers will end up paying billions of euros to provide healthcare for a never-ending wave of asylum seekers. This is in addition to the billions of euros already being spent to provide newcomers with food, clothing and shelter.
  • In addition to the massive economic and social costs, as well as the burden of increased crime, including a rape epidemic, Germans are now facing the risk of being exposed to exotic diseases — and tuberculosis.
  • Roughly 5% of asylum seekers are carrying resistant germs. In real numbers, this works out to around 75,000 newcomers with highly infectious diseases. — Dr. Jan-Thorsten Gräsner, director of the Institute for Rescue and Emergency Medicine.
  • Twenty types of vaccines are now in short supply, and 16 others are no longer available at all. Because of production bottlenecks, some vaccines will not become available until 2017.
  • Muslim women refuse to be treated by male doctors, and many Muslim men refuse to be treated by females. — Max Kaplan, director of the Bavarian Medical Board.
  • German media outlets are downplaying the extent of the healthcare problem, apparently to avoid spreading fear or provoking anti-immigrant sentiments.

The influx of more than one million asylum seekers from Africa, Asia and the Middle East is placing unprecedented strain on Germany’s healthcare system.

Hospitals, clinics and emergency rooms across Germany are being filled to capacity with migrants suffering maladies of all kinds, and medical personnel, including thousands of volunteers, are increasingly complaining of burnout.

5 Must Haves For Your Next Winter Road Trip

Powerful Winter Storm Paralyzes US

By Lee Flynn (Freelance writer and expert in emergency food preparedness and food storage)

Winter comes with treacherous road conditions. Snow, sleet, and freezing rain can quickly cause road conditions to deteriorate.

While none of us like to think that it will happen to us, we should always be prepared for the worst case scenario.

In addition to making sure that your gas tank is always half full there are five must have supplies that should always be kept in your during the winter.

1) Emergency Flares

Whether you slip off the road and down an embankment or come to a halt on the shoulder of the road, it is always important to let other drivers know that you are there.

Emergency flares are small and can be easily stored in the glove compartment or trunk of your car.

An emergency flare lets other drivers know that you are in trouble.

Emergency personnel often use these flares at the sites of accidents and other emergencies to illuminate the area creating a zone of safety.

Other drivers on the road will immediately know upon seeing a flare that the other driver as an emergency.

Flashers on your car may only indicate to another driver that you have stopped and not that you need assistance.

2) Warm Clothes/Blankets

Warm clothes and blankets are especially important during the winter months.

If your vehicle becomes disabled, you will have no source of heat.

Your only way to stay warm will be by layering on extra clothes and blankets.

Blankets made out of thick material such as fleece fabric can also be used to block any areas where cold air may be entering the car.

You should always make sure to group together with other occupants.

Use extra blankets to block off a section of the vehicle if possible and huddle together.

The more people that are huddled together the more you can use each other’s body heat to try and stay warm beneath your layers.

3) Water & Snacks

Hopefully, you will never break down or have an accident during the winter and if you do it will be on a frequently traveled road, where you are soon to be discovered quickly.

However, just in case, you need to make sure that you have an extra supply of bottled water and a few snacks, such as crackers.

You should always keep at least three days’ worth of food and water in your car.

Winter emergency food stashes could ensure that you keep your strength up and keep hydrated for when rescue comes.

These items can be stored under your seats or in the trunk of the car.

4) Cell Phone Charger

Your cell phone will be your only means of communication until help arrives.

You need to make sure that you have a dependable cell phone charger and should keep your phone plugged in and at full power while driving.

This way if your vehicle stops and the battery is dead you will have a full battery on your phone to contact help.

Cell phone chargers are small and easy to store. They will plug into your car’s cigarette lighter or USB port.

5) First Aid Kit

First Aid Kits are handy to have in the car no matter what the season.

You should ensure that at a minimum your kit contains hand sanitizer, bandages or gauze, antibiotic ointment, pain killers (such as Tylenol), a first aid manual, alcohol swabs, tweezers, scissors, and a packet of tissues.

These kits can be purchased from local stores or on the internet easily.

If help cannot get to you quickly, they could prove to be very helpful.

You should always keep your first aid kit within easy reaching distance.

The glove compartment or under the seat is an excellent place to store these kits.

Just remember it is always better to hope for the best, but plan for the worse and be prepared.

After being kicked out 20 years ago, the US Navy has returned to the base at Subic Bay, Philippines, where American military personnel are being welcomed in the wake of Chinese assertiveness in the region.

The US Navy began using the base last year after the United States and the Philippines came to terms on the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement. The deal grew from concern in the Philippines about China’s growing presence in the South China Sea.

Austria Will Build Border Fence With Slovenia To Control Migrant Flow

Austria will build a 2.5-mile fence on either side of its busiest border crossing with Slovenia to manage the flow of migrants into the country.

Austria Plans Border Fence With Slovenia To Control Migrant Flow:

Austria will build a 3.7-km (2.5-mile) fence on either side of its busiest border crossing with Slovenia to help manage the flow of thousands of migrants a day onto its territory, senior officials said on Friday.

It was the latest move by a country on Europe’s main migratory corridor, stretching from Greece to Germany, to manage or curb the influx since hundreds of thousands started streaming into Austria and Germany two months ago, putting severe strain on the European Union’s prized system of open borders.

FARAGE FOR BREITBART: Europe Can’t Put The Migrant Champagne Cork Back In The Open Borders Bottle:

As all high-living Breitbart London readers will know, getting the cork out of a champagne bottle can sometimes be a little tricky. But once achieved it is followed by a rush of bubbles and energy. But if half way through the bottle you decide you’ve had enough, have a go at putting the cork back in.

Once, in a moment of sobriety, I attempted this exercise. It’s impossible.

A young boy named Landon Riddle was diagnosed with Leukemia, and was told by his doctors that he only had an 8-10% chance of living for more than a day or two.

“His whole chest was full of leukemia tumors, which is why he couldn’t breathe. They started him on chemo, but told us that he probably wasn’t going to make it,” his mother, Sierra Riddle said.

After two months of Chemotherapy, Landon became sick and would refuse to eat. According to his mother, he would vomit up to 50 times a day, and the doctors eventually lost hope, seeing no other solution than Chemotherapy.

Then one day, Landon’s grandmother suggested that they look into cannabis oil treatment.

World’s Largest Hedge Fund Dumped 31% Of Its US Equity Holdings In The Third Quarter

“Do You Own Gold?” “Oh Yeah, I Do” Says Ray Dalio at CFR

World’s Largest Hedge Fund Dumped 31% Of Its US Equity Holdings In The Third Quarter:

The world’s biggest hedge fund, Ray Dalio’s Bridgewater Associates got into some hot water in the past few months when it was accused by many members of the underperforming “hedge fund hotel” club for being the “risk parity” catalyst that sent the market tumbling in August, and perhaps for being the catalyst for the August 24 market crash.

And while the bulk of Bridgewater’s asset are in various commodities and futures, most of which are never reported to the public, earlier today it did disclose its long holdings in public equities when it filed its latest 13F. Perhaps those accusing Bridgewater of being the market-moving catalyst did have a point, because after posting a total AUM of $10.8 billion at June, this total declined by a whopping 31% to just $7.5 billion as of September 30.

Here is what Brigewater was dumping (and adding).

The Bitter, Crushing Poverty Of Appalachia Is A Preview Of What Is Coming To The Rest Of The Country

The Bitter, Crushing Poverty Of Appalachia Is A Preview Of What Is Coming To The Rest Of The Country:

What do you say to people that have completely lost all hope that things will ever get any better?  The mountains of Appalachia stretch all the way from southern New York to northern Mississippi, and nestled within those mountains are dozens upon dozens of little towns that are so impoverished that they look like they have been through a war.  Thanks to Barack Obama’s relentless assault on the coal industry and the ongoing collapse of our industrial infrastructure, Appalachia has lost millions of good paying jobs over the past several decades.  Today, more than 40 percent of the population is living in poverty in some areas of eastern Kentucky, and addiction to “hillbilly heroin” (Oxycontin) is absolutely out of control throughout the region.  Yes, poverty is on the rise all over America, but it has especially been cruel to those that make the mountains of Appalachia their home.

4 Harbingers Of Stock Market Doom That Foreshadowed The 2008 Crash Are Flashing Red Again

4 Harbingers Of Stock Market Doom That Foreshadowed The 2008 Crash Are Flashing Red Again:

So many of the exact same patterns that we witnessed just before the stock market crash of 2008 are playing out once again right before our eyes.  Most of the time, a stock market crash doesn’t just come out of nowhere.  Normally there are specific leading indicators that we can look for that will tell us if major trouble is on the horizon.  One of these leading indicators is the junk bond market.  Right now, a closely watched high yield bond ETF known as JNK is sitting at 35.77.  If it falls below 35, that will be a major red flag, and it will be the first time that it has done so since 2009.  As you can see from this chart, JNK started crashing in June and July of 2008 – well before equities started crashing later that year.  A crash in junk bonds almost always precedes a major crash in stocks, and so this is something that I am watching carefully.

And there is a reason why junk bonds are crashing.  In 2015 we have seen the most corporate bond downgrades since the last financial crisis, and corporate debt defaults are absolutely skyrocketing.  The following comes from a recent piece by Porter Stansberry

Luxury London Real Estate Prices Plunge 11.5% Year-Over-Year

Real Estate Bubble

Luxury London Real Estate Prices Plunge 11.5% Year-Over-Year:

Two months ago I published a piece titled, Luxury London Home Sales Plunge 26% – Has this Mega Real Estate Bubble Finally Burst?. I wrote:

It appears the music may have finally stopped for one of the world’s largest luxury real estate bubbles: London.

It’s well known that foreign oligarchs love London real estate as a means to launder funds, typically “earned” by soaking their host countries dry via corruption and fraud. This has caused absurd and irrational spikes in high-end residential real estate in the English capital, as well as a flood of new construction.

With emerging markets now completely collapsing, the seemingly endless flood of foreign money is drying up, and with it, London real estate.

So has the London real estate bubble popped? Probably.

Now we see the following from Bloomberg:

Veterans Affairs Paid Out $142 Million in Cash Bonuses Immediately Following Deadly Scandal

Veterans Affairs

Veterans Affairs Paid Out $142 Million in Cash Bonuses Immediately Following Deadly Scandal:

The Department of Veterans Affairs doled out more than $142 million in bonuses to executives and employees for performance in 2014 even as scandals over veterans’ health care and other issues racked the agency.

The agency paid more than $380,000 in 2013 performance bonuses to top officials at hospitals where veterans faced long delays in receiving treatment, including those under investigation for wait-time manipulation.

In Tomah, Wis., the former chief of staff of the VA medical center there, Dr. David Houlihan — whom veterans nicknamed the “Candy Man” because of his prolific prescribing of narcotics — received a $4,000 bonus in December. That was nine months after an inspector general investigation report concluded he was prescribing alarmingly high amounts of opiates. And it was four months after Marine Corps veteran Jason Simcakoski, 35, died of “mixed-drug toxicity” as an inpatient at Tomah after he was prescribed a fatal cocktail of medications, including opiates. The inpatient pharmacist supervisor also received a $1,050 bonus in December. A spokesman for the Tomah VA declined to comment. The VA moved last month to fire Houlihan. A lawyer who represented him did not respond to a message Tuesday seeking comment.

In Augusta, Ga., VA financial manager Jed Fillingim was awarded a $900 performance bonus. He drew scrutiny from Congress last year after news reports revealed he admitted drinking and driving a government truck to a VA meeting in 2010 and a co-worker fell from the truck and was killed.

– From the excellent USA Today article: Veterans Affairs Pays $142 Million in Bonuses Amid Scandals

For several months in 2014, one of the biggest stories in America revolved around revelations of incompetence and death at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Specifically, an internal VA investigation admitted at least 23 veterans died while waiting for care, and that 120,000 were being affected by delinquent care. The FBI subsequently launched a criminal probe into the VA, and here’s what the White House had to say about the entire affair:

New York City Councilmembers Ask for 71% Pay Raise to $192,500 While Median NYC Wage is $52,000

New York City Councilmembers Ask for 71% Pay Raise to $192,500 While Median NYC Wage is $52,000:

New York City’s method of assessing property values is so out of whack that the buyer of the most expensive apartment ever sold — a $100 million duplex overlooking Central Park — pays taxes as if the place were worth just $6.5 million.

With controversial tax breaks granted to the One57 condo tower, the total property tax bill for the spectacular penthouse is just $17,268, an effective rate of 0.017 percent of its sale price.

By contrast, the owner of a nearby condo at 224 E. 52nd St. that recently sold for $1.02 million is paying an effective rate of 2.38 percent, or $24,279, according to data compiled for The Post by the Revaluate.com real-estate information website.

– From the post: Tax Breaks for Oligarchs – The $100 Million Manhattan Apartment with a Property Tax Rate of 0.017%

If anyone deserves a steep pay raise it’s New York City Councilmembers. Never mind the fact that average wages for regular citizens haven’t budged in years, leading to some fully employed individuals living in homeless shelters. After all, ensuring billionaires get favorable tax breaks is hard work.
