It is worse here in CA than in my lifetime, and I have lived a long life. We have had no rain since April 6th. I am in Northern CA, an area that has been able to escape droughts until now.
We have to learn to use water more carefully and recycle running water. We have the technology, we can do it. But, like everything else, a problem has to arise first. As a species, we are fools.

If the Chinese claim they have 100 cases, the truth is probably 10X that much. They are not famous for telling the truth.
SARS was supposedly an illness that killed 600-800 people. I had a lot of people over there at the time, and the number was in the thousands, not hundreds. They do not value human life as we do.
Diseases come out of filth. You get out of the big cities in China, and that is how most of them live.......in filth. I had one hiring manager visiting a factory there, inspecting glass. She picked up this brown substance used to cushion the glass pieces, and asked what it was. Reply, camel dung.
People here have no idea how primitive they are.....they treat their people like dirt. Unemployment rates are far higher than they admit, and every day they have riots. Not just one or two.....many.
China is not nearly as stable or as much of a developing world power as we think. They have grown very quickly, and are suffering from it.

The markets are so rigged, and so crooked now, it is impossible to follow them. They no longer reflect the real economy. Over 80% of all trades on the Big Board are high frequency. That means a few individuals controlling hundreds of millions in large funds, buy and sell huge blocks of securities in less than 8 seconds. This isn't investing, it is skimming, and used to be illegal.
Most trades take wealth out of the market, and put nothing back. I am amazed that no matter how bad the news, the market keeps going up. It is so crooked, that I would recommend everyone get out. An ordinary investor doesn't have a chance against these people.
Volume has dropped dramatically over the past few years, it has become a shell game of the worst variety. I would not be surprised to see it all tumble down, and I can tell you when it will happen.
I read an article the other day about 401K funds. People are pulling all their money out to buy houses. If enough people do it, the market will crash, because banks don't even keep 5cents on every dollar they claim as assets on deposit. It would take very little for it all to come tumbling down. If enough people ask for the cash, that will do it.
I don't know when, in my opinion, it should have happened by now, but it will happen.

Well, it takes the House, not just the Senate, and there is no mention of it here. If we use Israel to attack Iran, we are bigger fools than I thought.
A non-binding resolution means that.......non-binding.
If there is a plan to hit Iran, they better have something better than this. Iran will never surrender.......they are the sort of people who never give up. They despised us 35 years ago, when a lot of them were here in college, and it has not gotten better since then.
Iranians would literally cut off their noses to spite their faces. They have an inner pride and stubbornness that is not understood by the western mind.......and if they cannot get you, they will get your children. I don't think the fool senate has one inkling of the Iranian mind.
I fear for this nation because we have fools in power.

I'm sorry, but there is no way in the long run that the US could seal off its market from trade with the rest of the world to the degree that it would for an indefinite period keep its wages higher than the rest of the world.
Better to open the gates to competition straight away and try to realign the economy accordingly. If there are no fundamental reasons for higher wages in the US, the solution is to create such reasons, which of course is a different and very complicated problem. Probably it would include some kind of eugenic policies.

I have swelling in the sigmoid colon. I eat a very good healthy diet, but when my emotions fluctuate, I add bad food to my diet. This inconsistency has caused swelling in my sigmoid colon. It is very painful and inflamed. My doctor wants to do a ct scan of my colon in order to give me antibiotics in case of an infection. This sounds absurd. I also feel pre-menopause. My hormones are all over the place. When I talked about doing Acupuncture to strengthen my colon and kidney channel, the nurse in my gastro dr.'s office said she is familiar with Chinese Medicine and it may cause death if I don't know what my root cause of my colon is and only the ct scan can tell that.

The fact China has many riots daily is not news to me. People with advanced degrees stand alongside city roads hoping for day work. The unemployment has been a problem in China over the past decade. Lately, since 2007-08, it has gotten much worse.
Until the crash of 2007-08, China's number one customers were US consumers. We bought their junk in record numbers. Once the crash at home settled in, people in the US stopped buying. China then turned to the Euro, and the Eurozone became their #1 customer.
Then, the crash hit the Eurozone. People in Europe are quite familiar with cutting back, they have had shortages over the years. So, they stopped buying Chinese junk.
The entire world economy was relying on China and the Eurozone to keep the global economy stable. China has relied on their exports to keep growing. Now, nobody is buying, so their mfg. plants sit idle, putting even more people out of work.
They built cities using public money to feed a real estate bubble.......nobody lives in them, they can't afford them. China is in deep trouble, and that has been true for the last decade and a half. They have more workers than industries to hire them because they relied on selling their stuff overseas. China is almost 100% export oriented.
The Euro is in turmoil, the US dollar is losing all it's power.
Since all the nations decided on a global economy, if one nation gets sick, all the others get it, too.
Thanks for covering this important story. I wish US media would follow your lead, but they only focus on one story at a time. Anything to scare the people about the economic situation is ignored, regardless of it's truth or importance.
