Mulumebet Girma rose through housing department ranks after London’s Southwark Council failed to uncover her criminal past, despite her being in one of the UK’s highest-profile terror trials.
Girma’s colleagues “failed to realise she was linked to one of the country’s most notorious attacks.” In other words, despite the fact that “details of her convictions can be found in seconds with a simple Google search, aided by her unusual name,” Girma still was not vetted. Concerns have also been raised about what access she may have had to databases of “vulnerable people.” Her employment raises questions about what measures are taken by London’s Southwark Council to vet staff.
The carelessness exhibited in hiring Girma is only one manifestation of a larger problem we see in the West in the face of multiculturalism and immigration. For example, the Muslim rape gang scandal, in which the system failed to protect the most vulnerable so as to avoid being called “racist” or “Islamophobic”; a Muslim MP retweeted that victims of Muslim rape gangs should shut up for the “good of diversity.”
Many Western nations and/or leaders have systemically adopted a two-tier system, with special privileges awarded to Muslims on many levels. Some other examples: the Obama administration once gave Somali Muslims behind-the-scenes tours at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport — the nation’s 17th busiest in terms of passenger traffic — after the group “complained to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson about feeling harassed and profiled”; a Muslim professor at the University of California called for “intifada” in America, with no outcry or consequences.
Even “anti-Islamophobia” drives that seek to shut down criticism of Islam gives special status to one religion above all others. This term is pushed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. It does not hold the same meaning as anti-Muslim bigotry; it is meant to silence all criticism of Islam as a political system, and of oppression justified by sharia norms.

A Muslim woman jailed over the 2008 London tube bomb plot was subsequently given a high-flying job with a local council and even featured on the authority’s magazine front cover.
Mulumebet Girma, 33, rose through the ranks of the Southwark Council, despite being convicted of hiding a terrorist, after failing to disclose her criminal past when applying for the position.
The Ethiopian origin former model was jailed for 10 years in 2008 for helping her brother-in-law Hussain Osman escape after his plot to kill Tube passengers.
The plot failed because the attackers did not mix their chemicals properly, and was attempted just two weeks after the 7/7 attacks that killed 52 people.
Mrs. Girma hid the terrorist at her home in Brighton before he fled the country, and did not report the plot to the police.
Her sentence was reduced to five years on appeal, and in 2013 she was recruited by the Labour-run south London local authority as a trainee customer services assistant, The Sun reports.
She was sentenced alongside her sister and Mr. Osman’s wife, Yeshi Girma, then 32, who is serving 11 years and 9 months in prison.
Eleanor Kelly, chief executive of Southwark Council, said: “The individual concerned no longer works for Southwark Council.
“As soon as her background came to light we took immediate action and terminated her employment. She did not disclose her full offense to the council…….
Liberal Democrat councillor Anood Al-Samerai, leader of Southwark’s main opposition party, called it “particularly shocking”.
She told the Evening Standard: “Clearly something has gone very wrong. There must be an urgent independent inquiry. We are very concerned that the HR processes seem to have failed completely.
“It makes you wonder what else they have not picked up on?”
