The worrying conclusion that there will be only one official story, a 1984 scenario, has sadly been true since at least the beginning of WWll.
Dunkirk was a mass evacuation of overwhelmed troops from French soil, which shocked and devastated the British.
What was kept totally secret was that 6 months later, an identical event took place 50 miles south at Boulogne Maritime.
The British public were never made aware of it as Churchill instructed a total blackout because ‘the public couldn’t take another humiliation so soon’.
