Independent Swedish journalist Joakim Lamotte has claimed sexual abuse from newly arrived migrants is not only prevalent in schools but that victims are accused of being racist if they speak out.

Mr. Lamotte, who formerly worked as a journalist at Sweden’s state broadcaster SVT, has posted a video on his Facebook page describing a wave of sexual assaults committed by “newcomer” asylum seekers. He said when students or teachers attempt to talk about the problem they are called racists and nothing is done.

A third migrant route appears to be opening up across the Mediterranean as the number of migrants landing along Spain’s coastline has tripled this year.

Between January and April 2016, some 1,026 migrants arrived in Europe via Spain. But that number has shot up in the same period of 2017 to more than 3,300, making the Spanish route the fastest growing in the Mediterranean.

In the last week alone, there has been a fresh surge in arrivals. On Wednesday, more than 100 migrants were picked up by the Spanish coastguard from three boats near Alborán, a rocky outcrop halfway between Spain and Morocco, The Telegraph has reported.

Commenting on Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord, Russian President Vladimir Putin joked that Trump’s move made him a convenient person to blame for any spell of bad weather, including wet snow in Moscow on Friday, an extremely rare occurrence in the summer.

Last night was a particularly long night as I regret the word I used in the banter of a live moment. The word was offensive and I regret saying it and am very sorry.

A rep for Maher told Variety the comedian was traveling on Saturday and unavailable for further comment.

I was scheduled to talk with Gilad Atzmon about his excellent new book, Being In Time. A few hours before the start, the venue, called The Cluny, cancelled our booking. We went along to alert those coming to a change of venue and to ask the management of The Cluny, a music venue where Gilad has played often over many years, why they felt compelled to exclude us. Their reaction was vitriolic. Vitriolic and weird. The weirdness is the thing. We were treated like sub-humans, literally worse than the whippet which was allowed access to the venue from which we were barred. When we asked “why?” the manager and the owner of the venue would not answer. We were not worthy of a response. We were a stink in their nostrils, or at least that is the impression they felt compelled to give.
