Jellyfish invasion swamps southeast Queensland beach:

THE invasion of bluebottles and jellyfish on Sunshine Coast beaches continues with 22,841 bluebottle stings recorded by lifesavers since December 1.

The Sunshine Coast Daily reported Strong northerlies blowing through the summer have contributed to the problem with a Surf Lifesaving Queensland spokeswoman advising Noosa and Mooloolaba recording the most stings with approximately 3000 each.
