Victory! Facebook restores Robert Spencer’s account after popular outcry:

After being locked out of Facebook and asked to provide ID in order to get back in, I sent Facebook my driver’s license three times — but I heard nothing from them until I wrote earlier today “Facebook is no friend of the freedom of speech, and is especially tough on foes of jihad terror and the massive Muslim migrant influx into the West.” Pamela Geller tweeted the hashtag #ReinstateSpencer, and many, many people wrote to Facebook asking that they reinstate me.

The public pressure worked. I just received this message from Facebook: Hi Robert, It looks like your account was suspended by mistake. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience. You should now be able to log in. If you have any issues getting back into your account, please let me know.”

Make no mistake: this was no “mistake.” My main tech expert was locked out of Facebook on the same day — what a coincidence! If Facebook hadn’t been publicly called out for this, I seriously doubt I would have been reinstated. So a heartfelt thanks to all of you who contacted them. This whole episode shows that we must never let our guard down, and never let the authoritarian forces that are arrayed against us get away with anything without raising as much of an outcry as we possibly can. Cracks have opened up in the great edifice of lies that the political and media elites have been constructing for years. It is time to keep the pressure on.
