Turkish Coup Plotted to Stop Mending of Russia-Turkey Ties – Serbian FM:

The coup attempt in Turkey was masterminded by forces that were seeking to halt the restoration of good relations between Turkey and Russia, the acting Serbian foreign minister said Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The official condemned Friday’s coup attempt in Turkey which claimed lives of over 260 people, saying that a violent change of government cannot bring anything good to the citizens.

“I am sure that the coup [in Turkey] has a lot of influences from the outside…. It is now clear that the Russian plane was taken down by the pilot who belonged to the same group as those behind the coup, and now that Turkey renewed its ties with Russia, it clearly did not suit someone,” Ivica Dacic said as quoted by b92 broadcaster.

Relations between Moscow and Ankara deteriorated when the Russian Su-24 attack aircraft was shot on November 24, 2015, by a Turkish fighter near the Turkish border in Syria. In June, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan apologized for the air incident, in a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin.By doing so Ankara fulfilled Moscow’s condition for restoring the long-term partnership between the two countries. The letter also said a legal case was launched against a Turkish citizen suspected of involvement in the death of the downed plane’s pilot, which was another precondition.

On June 29, Erdogan and Putin agreed in a phone talk to meet in person later this year. Putin then lifted the ban on charter flights to Turkey and ordered the government to negotiate trade revival with Ankara.

  1. MacRaguel Says:

Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakstan currently have troops on rotation in training with British, Italian, German and US forces at a “facility” in England

Taking this info into account with that would indicate a serious counter move by NATO in response to such a rekindled relationship and lend weight to NATO’s involvement or pre awareness

The Russian southern flank remains exposed and closes in further and Turkey is surrounded

  2. MacRaguel Says:

    To add
Large Kurdish (US’s on/off regional “levies”) in Turkmenistan
Next place to keep an eye on is Bulgaria. Whom boarders turkey, resisting a NATO Black Sea fleet and anti missile defence stations in their country and at the moment are much more pro east

    Not to worry yet though
NATO will NOT engage in a winter conflict
