  1. I am no Bible thumper, but I have read the Bible twice cover to cover. The first time was to win arguments with born again, the second was during two semesters in college.

In Revelations there is a passage that essentially says that in the last days people will pray for death, but it will not come……and I think the more cures these clowns find for the natural ways our bodies wear out lead us there.

When my father was 82, he had a heart attack. Instead of letting his body act normally, they slapped a pacemaker into him. Shortly thereafter, he developed dementia, and he spent the next few years praying for death. He was sharp enough to know he was losing it……..and didn’t die until he was 87. Had they left him alone, he might have died before having dementia…….

I know my attitude isn’t the status quo, but I have made it clear I want no treatments to extend my life. I will go when my body has had enough….These cures are worse than the diseases. I know a number of people who have had treatment for heart attacks, and now they spend their lives taking drugs that make them sick, running to doctors, monitoring their blood pressure while living in terror of death. I have no intention of living that way. I know one person in a study group who thanks God daily she is in it…….she has not read the same stuff I have about those things, obviously.

Maybe I am wrong, but I have to live as I believe, and to me, death is just another doorway……..
