Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Tepco official Isao Shirai told reporters that the increased radioactivity in the water could be due to higher levels of groundwater caused by recent typhoons mixing with radioactive elements…
NHK WORLD, Oct. 15, 2014: Cesium in groundwater rises at plant after storm — [Tepco] says it has detected high levels of radioactive cesium in groundwater after last week’s heavy rainfall from a typhoon. Highly contaminated water… seeped into soil [and] likely caused radioactive substances in the soil to flow into the groundwater… The officials plan to increase the frequency of water sample tests… to every day to monitor the effects of the heavy rainfall. But they say it will be difficult to take drastic steps because they do not know how far the contaminated water seeped into the ground after the accident.
Yahoo News, Oct. 15, 2014: Radiation increases in Fukushima aquifers after typhoon — The level of radioactive contamination detected in the underground water of the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant has increased after torrential rain [TEPCO] said Wednesday… Rainwater seeped into the sub-soil and mixed with the contaminated fluid coming from the damaged reactors… Plant managers are expected to take samples of groundwater in the area more often to analyse the evolution of the radiation, according to TEPCO. For the moment, additional measures have been ruled out since the depth and scope of the contaminated water leaks are unknown… Large amounts of contaminated water, much of which flows into the Pacific Ocean, are one of the major challenges that are still unresolved in the nuclear power plant…
New test results are available for samples taken Wednesday, one day after Typhoon Vongfong passed over the plant (pdf). Record-high levels of radioactive cesium continue to increase.

There are some things they can do, but they won’t. They could give simple directions to help people protect themselves, their children and their pets……much as you did on this site. From the advise on this site, I was able to advise people who called and asked me what to do when walking their pets in acid rain, and so on.
Keep your face and hands covered. If you get it on your hands and face, wash them, and wash your pet’s feet, even cats. Children, treat as you would yourself.
Keep outside shoes outside, don’t wear outside gear in the house.
Wear different shoes inside.
Drink, and keep bottled water inside. Drink bottled water and give it to your pets as well.
Any fresh fruit or vegetables such as grapes, apples, celery, anything you eat that isn’t covered by nature (such as oranges), soak them in water for at least 15 minutes. Then, wash them off. Then, rinse in bottled water. That gets much of the pesticides and other rubbish off of them.
Organic does not mean clean…….
Organic food, milk and bananas have a far longer shelf life than the other. I buy them for that reason….I am not a great banana or milk consumer, and the organic doesn’t go bad before I consume them.
Do not eat fish or sea creatures. They are poisoned. Sharks are actually going ashore to catch fish, they are starving because all the fish in the deep are dead or dying. Some fool filmed the sharks going ashore for food, and the broadcaster thought it was funny. That was on NBC this morning….
Do not eat beef or any meats. There is no oversight, and they now mix diseased beef with healthy…….there are no inspectors to catch them. Also, the food they feed them are diseased and full of poisons.
Chicken needs to be farm raised without being caged. If you know where they really originate, it may be okay. I have stopped eating any meat or eggs. If you eat eggs, make sure the hens are free roaming and not fed hormones.
The radiation has completely destroyed our food chain. It is in the soil where the fruit and vegetables grow…….there is no way to escape it.
I am sure there are other ideas out there. The Pacific Ocean is completely dead, our once wonderful beaches are covered with barnacles…….all beautiful sea life is gone.
And these idiots dare to claim they don’t know why……..
We have never dealt with a dead ocean before, let alone the world’s largest that provided 50% of the world’s oxygen supply. We confront a terrible, corporate caused nightmare from which none can escape.
As the radiation builds up, the deaths will come faster and faster until it is a matter of minutes instead of months. Already (I live in CA) I have that metallic taste in my mouth and the burning in my esophagus………No more cracked crab and sour dough french bread on New Years eve………..No more smoked salmon……all the foods I so loved……..the world I loved……all is gone, and our fool leaders won’t even give folks basic information. It is sickening, and I have no words to express what I feel.
It really doesn’t matter if people wake up or not. It is too late.
