The overall death toll in the unprecedented floods that have raged across the Balkans has reached 44, as more bodies were recovered from the Serbian town of Obrenovac on Sunday.

In “Obrenovac alone we recovered 12 corpses,” Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said, as cited by the Associated Press. That brings the number of disaster victims in Serbia up to 16, while Bosnia has confirmed 27 dead and Croatia one.

  1. Were it not for it’s location, no mention would be made of it……….very old, with a history going back many centuries. It is the location that made Queen Elizabeth II send her warships in to protect their rights, otherwise, Britain would have no place in that area of the world left. Remember, the British Empire once had an empire upon which the sun never set…….
I am sorry to see them suffering from rising waters due to melting glaciers, regardless of what the news media says, that is what is causing much of this misery.
Miami, FL, is now living as a city dealing with over-running waters on a daily basis……this is no fantasy, folks, for whatever reasons you want to give, the sea is rising, and I don’t think it is because the land is sinking…..

I hope sincerely this passes very soon, and that steps can be taken to protect this remarkably ancient land with so much history of mankind.
I know Russia will do all they can do as well. Since Putin seems to be a man to put his money where his mouth is, if he promises help, it will materialize. In that respect, they are fortunate.
