Deadly Pig Virus Spreads To Arizona; 27 U.S. States Now Affected

Deadly pig virus spreads to Arizona; 27 U.S. states now affected (Reuters, March 16, 2014):

Arizona is the latest state to confirm cases of the deadly Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus, a highly contagious pig disease, increasing the tally of U.S. states with confirmed cases to 27, a group of animal health researchers said.

Virginia has reported positive samples of the virus in the environment, but not yet in a hog herd, according to data released on Thursday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Animal Health Laboratory Network.

Confirmed cases of PEDv increased by 274 in the week ending March 8, bringing the total number to 4,458 in 27 states.

While one case can represent an individual animal or an entire herd at a single site, hog industry analysts estimate PEDv has killed between 4 million and 5 million U.S. hogs since it was discovered in May 2013.

PEDv, which does not affect humans and is not a food safety risk, causes diarrhea, vomiting and severe dehydration in pigs. While older pigs have a chance of survival, 80 to 100 percent of piglets that contract it die.

“Anytime we have a disease that cuts numbers, it cuts Checkoff income,” said John Parker, spokesman for the Virginia Pork Council, referring to The Pork Checkoff which funds research, including disease research, and programs to promote the U.S. pork industry. Pork producers invest 40 cents for every $100 of hogs sold to fund the Checkoff which is governed by the National Pork Board.

“And it is the worst timing in the world because you need to promote biosecurity on farms to keep the disease from spreading,” Parker added.

Senators from North Carolina and Michigan, two of the states with reported cases of PEDv, on Thursday urged the USDA to approve disaster assistance for small pork producers affected by a deadly virus that has killed more than four million pigs across the United States in the past year.

North Carolina is the second biggest hog producer in the U.S., behind top state Iowa, which is also affected by the virus.

Pork processors are finding it more difficult to purchase hogs for slaughter due to the virus which was first reported in May last year and is starting to affect the pork supply and could eventually boost pork prices for consumers, industry sources said.

  1. Lets see……..they would feed us the meat of diseased beef…..just uncovered a few weeks ago here in Petaluma by a so-called upper level company that sells beef……no oversight. The fish are poison. Chicken now sent to China to be processed, so is now poisoned with their filth……..now, we have sick pork.
The food chain is irrevocably broken. This is just the beginning.

Vegetarians, vegans and especially those raw vegan nutcases (like myself!) are often doing some terrible dietary mistakes and that is why they look skinny & pale or fat & pale.

And in the beginning of a raw food diet it is OK to lose (a lot of) weight, because all of the toxic garbage that has been accumulated over the years is leaving the body.

The entire body is getting refurbished and that requires a lot of energy and also takes time.

Yet after a few months the body should start to look more muscular, fitter and healthier than before.

It should start to vibrate and get that healthy glow of youth back, that seemed to be long gone.

If that doesn’t happen the diet is still lousy.

In my opinion leaving meat and dairy products behind is a very healthy thing to do.

We are also the only ‘animal’ on the planet that ‘kills’ it’s food and destroys the lifeforce (enzymes etc.) in it by cooking it.

For example if you cook spinach you are turning the very healthy (organic) oxalic acid into inorganic oxalic acid, which is causing a lot of trouble inside the body and is very unhealthy especially for small children.

So children who don’t want to eat their (cooked) spinach were always right.

Interestingly enough the same kids usually like/love (although many of them do not want to admit it at first) a green smoothie that is loaded with spinach.

We also do not have such a strong stomach acid, like the carnivores, to kill all those parasites in meat and fish. Their stomach acid is so strong that it can digest bones and feathers.

Cooking is not good enough to kill all those parasites and when over time the digestive tract is slowly getting filled up with garbage then the body cannot assimilate all the vital nutrients anymore and the immune system starts to weaken.

That is when the trouble begins and the body is starting to get sick.

The body does its best to delay the occurence of disease by storing toxic garbage in fat deposits and in the not so vital parts of the body, but sooner or later the body has to give in.

There is a reason why we call them ‘diseases of civilization’.

If you look at the work of Dr. Alexis Carrel it’s getting clear that we should have a much longer lifespan.

In my opinion the elitists have done an outstanding job to rob our greatest potential from us.

‘Modified’ water and food are two of their key weapons used to destroy us, when water and food were originally there to support us.

      Not anymore.

And now you have to even explain your neighbors that GM food is lethal stuff, when this should be common sense and general knowledge.

I am sure you did a great job and they will remember exactly what you have told them.
