  1. I don’t believe anyone will blow up nuclear plants……..not after Fukushima. I think there might be some noise, but that would be total suicide. But, if money supply vanishes, panic will ensue, and all bets are off.
I know some people one would call upper middle class. They were hurt in 2001-again 2007-08, but not too badly, and continued to build wealth……at least on paper. Some of them have bought more real estate, thinking they have a good deal….all their loans are ARMs……the banks won’t return their calls when they try to get set rates……
They are the ones who are going to fall this time. The people who until now thought the economy would not hurt them……….
Bank holidays are always a bad sign. The fact France has lost 73% of foreign investment is very bad……..this horrible global gutter called a global economy was not put together with enough forethought and true financial verification.
It was Napoleon I who originally had the idea of the Euro in 1804. But, in those days, all the nations of the world had economies that were backed with gold. War was fought to replenish the treasury, not enrich contractors, as it is now.
When Napoleon took over France, it was bankrupt. Thanks to his brilliant oversight, France was debt free in 1815 when he left office. His idea for a European union was ahead of its time, and it would have been far better engineered.
This time, all the nations used creative accounting, offsetting losses in shell funds and corporations, and claimed wealth they never possessed. When the Euro took off, it was being considered as the coming #1 currency of the world………no longer.
I never dreamed I would see the decline and fall of an entire civilization, but I think that is what we are entering. Nobody alive has ever lived in a society where there was no credible banking system in place…….but that is what is coming down.
Too many criminals running all the countries. People are pulling their cash and putting it in their mattresses…..something I remember hearing about during the days of the Great Depression of the 1930s. But, even then, we had a solid system…..our currency was backed with gold, we were the largest lending nation in the world, and the largest emerging Mfg nation in the world. Today, we have none of it.
Worse, neither has Europe. I don’t know about Russia, but their bank holiday makes me worry. This is what happens when people stop paying attention to their governments, and let them run themselves……..not just the US, but many nations in the Euro and around the world.
