California Department of Public Health Officials, Jan. 7, 2014: “There is no public health risk at California beaches due to radioactivity related to events at Fukushima.” […] The volume of water in the Pacific Ocean has a significant diluting effect on radionuclides that are present and it is not anticipated that the concentration will increase in the waters off of the west coast.

  1. When a nation loses all civil rights, all freedom of speech and loss of a free press, lies like this are everywhere. The problem is that the truth cannot be buried, it is a nuclear disaster that will destroy much of life as we know it. Lies won’t change a thing.
Few people believe anything US media or so-called government agencies say any longer because the US government has lost all credibility. Our financial markets were the finest in the world until Clinton signed away all the regulations that kept it so sterling. In less than five years, the dot com crash came. They rebuilt it with a real estate bubble that broke five years later, but did nothing to fix the inherent problem…..the corruption.
Once the world figured out that criminals run this nation, they started moving away from us. I went to usdebtclock.org today, and found that total foreign holdings of US debt is $5.6 trillion. China used to hold that much alone….but no longer. US debt is no longer trustworthy, just like our government.
Seeing NPR on that page shows how the draconian cuts to public TV has affected them. Thirty years ago, you would never have seen such rot with their name. They are so broke, they do whatever they can to stay on the air.
I don’t belong in this world any longer, people of my ilk are on the way out. You cannot teach or expect values in an amoral system……..I thank God I am not twenty starting out in this nightmare. Living in the US has gone from good to awful…….
As one who spent my life studying history as well as working in high technology, I often wondered why civilizations vanished without a trace. I never realized I would see the end of my own…..but that is what is happening. The breakdown of our society is showing bigger cracks every day……we have fools in power, and fools can destroy anything.
Thanks for covering this story. The lies help nobody. A woman I knew years ago who worked with juvenile delinquents told me that lies become second nature to them……it becomes automatic to lie, even when the truth would serve them much better. I didn’t fully understand her reply, but I think I do now, and we have such people running us downhill at 80mph. The sociopaths have won.
