Libyan Civilians ‘Killed In NATO Air Strike’

Libyan civilians ‘killed in Nato air strike‘ (Telegraph, June 19, 2011):

Reporters were shown bodies, two of them of toddlers, with officials claiming they died in a “barbaric” Nato air raid in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Libyan government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim accused the Western alliance of “deliberately targeting civilians,” insisting there were no military targets anywhere near the residential neighbourhood of the capital that was hit.

There were heaps of rubble and chunks of shattered concrete at the scene, which a large crowd of what appeared to be local residents were helping to clear.

“Basically, this is another night of murder, terror and horror in Tripoli caused by Nato,” government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim said. Five families were living in the building which was hit, he said.
